36daysoftype08 (A—I)
‘It’s the tool, not the hand, that makes the form’
For the 8th edition of 36DaysOfType (2021), I used my own custom-made tools which I have been developing since 2018. The idea for these tools derives from geometric typefaces, which inspire me the most.
I aim to use the possibilities that these brushes give me for making letter shapes. Therefore, I reject handling them just like any other drawing tool; instead, I embrace the restrictions. Letting the tools find their own visual language helps me to explore new forms of letters.
